Regarding The Korean Society of Heart Failure, after being founded as a research society that is affiliated with The Korean Society of Cardiology in the year 2003
Over the past 19 years, thanks to the active participation and efforts of nine former executives and 580 members, numerous achievements were made such as academic improvement from basic research to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart failure, as well as the development of standard care guidelines for patient care in real-world clinical practice, medical training, and campaigns to improve public awareness of heart failure.
The conference of the Korean Society of Heart Failure(KSHF) has elevated its status as a world-class conference, maintaining its active network with many other heart failure societies around the world, as well as participating in various domestic academic events in research & study fields.
The prevalence of patients with heart failure in Korea is now 2.25 %. Heart failure is a disease that will be explosively increased domestically and internationally in the post aging era. Often, there are heart failure patients who miss an appropriate treatment timing due to poor initial treatment, and this could lead to a worse mortality rate than that of most cancer(except lung cancer) patients.
The Korean Society of Heart Failure(KSHF) has been making lots of academic efforts to conquer the heart failure.
A number of academic books and globally acknowledged articles have been published by the Korean Society of Heart Failure(KSHF).
This not only helped to raise the status of our medical service to a global level, but also served as a momentum to have citizens and medical personnel be appropriately aware of what heart failure is about.
The Korean Society of Heart Failure(KSHF) has five core agendas as below.
